PRODUCER PROFILE: Sugar River Dairy is a family-owned and operated Grade A dairy plant that produces small-batch homestead yogurt. Ron grew up on a diary farm in southern Wisconsin and has an educational background in dairy science. In September of 2002, Sugar River Dairy produced their first yogurt. One of the smallest Grade A dairy processing plant in the mid-west, Sugar River Dairy doesn't believe in using stabilizers, preservatives, or hormones. Milk is picked up a Sassy Cow Creamery from a traditional herd that is humanely treated, outside daily, and rBST free. With a minimum of mechanical processing, Ron and Chris Paris transform raw milk into a non-homogenized, creamy, enzyme active healthy yogurt that is incubated in the cup. Visit by appointment only.
PRODUCTS: Our yogurt is non-homogenized (cream line) and contains no additives, stabilizers or high fructose corn syrup. Sugar River Dairy produces Whole Milk Plain, 1% Plain, and 1% Vanilla in 24 oz containers. In the 6 oz. cup, Raspberry, Blueberry, Strawberry, and Peach are available.
